How can I be sure what is selected with multiple layers of objects

Sorry for the dumb question, but if I am building a custom animation, my
view of the slide becomes cluttered and while I know I can use the TAB key to
cycle through objects for single selections, how can I get feedback as to
what exactly is selected? For instance, say I have two text boxes on top of
eachother, same width and height. How can I tell which is selected?

Thanks!

Not sure what you mean by animation and slide. Assuming you're using
Access, you can determine the currently selected control by using:
Screen.ActiveControl
