I am trying to setup a column in Microsoft Project that calculates "metres of
pipeline laid/day" based on a column with data entered by hte user and the
actual duration period data.
I am having trouble with the formula and how project calculates time in a
formula and the formatting af the calculated result. I want to combine eg 8
days (actual duration) and say 400m of pipeline laid. the result should read
50 m/day if correct but I can't seem to get that at all.

Hi,

Duration is stored as a number of minutes, so your formula should be:
Pipeline Metres/[Actual Duration]/8/60
