how can i cancel a read receipt that i accepted to ?

I accepted to send a read receipt of a mail but i cannot send emails from
that account (i can only receive mails) so everytime i open microsoft outlook
2003 it tries to send that email and gives me an error message. the read
receipt is not shown in the outbox therfore i cannot delete it. Please advise
me how can i get rid of that error. i do not wish to send the read receipt
anymore.
