How Can I Change a File Extension

My Outlook PST backup file extension was changed from .pst to .nk2.

Now when I try to open the file in Outlook or import it Outlook does not
recognize it as a PST data file. How can I change the fole extension from
..nk2 to .pst so that I can recover the data file. I am running WIndows XP

This is an ACCESS discussion group, but rename it to the .pst extension.

the Outlook newsgroup would have experts who could help with this. It would
make more sense to post on their discussion group that this access one.
