How can I change from "+1" to "1" in contacts with long distance n

Hello everybody,

In my Outlook connected to Exhcange server, when I edit the contacts phone
no. to have a 1 in front of the area code, Outlook automatically adds "+" in
front of 1. This does not work well on my MotoQ Contacts when calling long
distance from a roaming area.
Your input is much appreciated.
