How can I change text on page after user clicks on hot spot?

Hello -

I am using a MAP and an associated image to create 'hotspots' on the
image. I would like the ability to change the test on another
location on the same page depending upon the hotspot that was pressed.
For example, my image is a map of the United States, the map and the
associated hot spots are in one cell of the table. When the user
clicks on one of the states, I would like to change the text in
another cell of the table to reflect the information for that
particular state. Is this possible, I'm sure it is, I guess my
question is what is the best way to do it.

Thanks,

Jim
