How can I change Visio shape formats to default with no Fill?

Whenever I create a new Visio drawing, the default for the shapes are Filled
and have Shadows. How do I change the default so that I have plain shapes
and no shadows? I have to selelct all the shapes and then change the style -
very frustrating and time consuming.

Many thanks!!

I'm using Visio 2003.

With no shapes selected, go to Format > Style.

Choose "None" for the fill style.

Now when you draw a rectangle, it won't have a fill. You've set the default
style for the page.

Under Format > Define Styles, you can define your own style that has the
attributes you want. Then you go back and set the default style for the
drawing to be your newly created style.

Thanks! I forgot about creating my own style.

One more question: now that I have my new style created, how do I make that
the default style for my drawings?

Thanks again,

One more thing - once I made my style and performed the selection, my shapes
are still shadowed and filled when I drag them from the shapes bar.

Also, do I need to redefine my style for EVERY drawing? When I started a
new drawing, my custom style was not in the list.

Thanks again!
