How can I color the contents of a shapes that have been grouped?

I am using Microsoft Works Word Processor and I am drawing shapes using :

Insert>Picture>New Drawing

then I have drawn 2 triangle shapes using the line tool, grouped the two
shapes, selected color fill, but it does not color the shapes.

Please can you let me know - how to do this? Thanks

The problem is that WORD doesn't recognise your group of joined lines as a
closed object so can't fill it. You need to use the Drawing toolbar
Autoshapes/Basicshapes or Autoshapes/Lines/Freeform (but if you use this
make sure you come back to your start point and complete a closed shape)
