How can I convert a doc file to pps file?

There is no automatic way to do this. You need to open your doc file
and copy everything by going to: Edit, Select all, and CTRL-C to copy
the doc file in clipboard.

Now open your powerpoint and paste everything by CTRL-V.

You will now have a VERYYYYY BIGGGGGGG powerpoint slide.

You can import/insert the Word document and create slides in PPT based on
your Heading styles in the Word document. However, if the Word document
isn't formatted correctly it won't include all of the content.
