I have received a file of labels in the format:
John Smith
123 Main St.
Anytown, Anystate, AnyZip
This was fine for printing labels. However, I want to
use the data to create merge fields to do a mail merge
letter to these people. So I want to convert the above
data in WORD 2003 to:
(First Name) John (Last Name) Smith
(Address) 123 Main St.
(City) Anytown (State) Anystate (Zip Code) AnyZip
How can I do this? I opened up the "John Smith" label,
and WORD won't let me insert mail merge fields
before "John" and "Smith." Even if it did allow it, I
wouldn't want to also have to insert fields before "Mary"
and "Jones" etc., for the other 300 people in the file.
I look at my "Save As" options in WORD, and I don't see
an option that will let me save the labels in a CSV
format that I could then import into EXCEL, for instance.
I will appreciate advice.
