how can I convert table to text

Word Help says, SELECT, THEN under TABLE TOOLS on LAYOUT TAB in the DATA
group click etc. PAGE LAYOUT does not indicate TABLE TOOLS and where the
DATA group is, I have no idea. Can anyone help me to track these things down?

Assuming that you are using Word 2007, when a table is selected, Word
displays the Table Tools with two ribbon tabs: Design and Layout. You will
find the Convert to Text command on the Layout tab (in the Data group).
