how can i correctly write scientific notation

i'm taking notes for my science class and i would like to use scientific
notation i.e. 10 to the 23 power. how do i do htis

If typing, you can use either the ^ key for exponents as in:

10^23.

or the Superscript option in the Font Task Pane.

If you're on a Tablet PC, just write the two numbers with sufficient
difference in size between them.
