how can i count the number of mails in a perticular folder?

In Outlook, select the folder in the Navigation Pane to open it. The number
of items it contains will appear in the Status bar at the bottom, unless
you've disabled the Status bar. In that case, simply enable it.

R-click the folder, select properties, and tick the Show number of Items
option.

Or click View, Status bar, and then select the Folder and read the count
at the bottom left.
