how can i create a dependency across sub projects?

I have several sub projects that together form a 'program management
framework'. I have tasks in one that are dependent on completion in another.
when i pull up the master project it shows all sub projects but in the task
information form the only task names viewable to set as predecessors are
within the sub project and not within the master project. Perhaps there is
another way (short of copy and pastelink) to accomplish this. Guidance
appreciated.

Hello Misha,
Use the "Link Tasks" button in the tool bar (small link) :
In the master project, select the Predecessor task
Press the Ctrl key
Select the successor
Click the Link tasks button : i'll create a FS link. you can change it as
you want : SS, FF...
