How can I create my own Calendar template in Publisher 2003?

Ok this is what I did......

First I picked a calendar template and modified it. I saved it and then went
to change the date range to reflect the whole year (12 months). When I went
to open page 2 (Feb/06) the format had reverted back to the original template
design. This was the case for all the rest of the months. The first month
(Jan/06) still showed the changes I made.

That didn't work so I went a created a new design using a blank publication
and then saved it as a Publisher template, but when I opened it up and wanted
to add a calendar it wouldn't let me change the date range (it was shaded).

What I want to do is create a calendar using my own design and still be able
to have the months and dates inserted automatically as if I were using one of
Publishers Calendar templates.

Does this make sense? Can it be done?

Thanks!

Hi Jennifer,

I had the same question a little while ago as I'm also new to Publisher
2003. I was advised that it's not possible to change the pre-set
calendar templates, unless you adjust each page separately or utilize
another program. I'm kind of thinking that Publisher doesn't have that
capability for personalization.

The response I received from one member here was:

"You will need to use a dedicated calendar
application - or PagePlus."

That appears to be true, at least as far as my experience has been. I
guess Publisher is limited in terms of personalizing calendars.

Good luck with your project!

Thanks Karen. I find it disappointing that a program like Publisher wouldn't
have (what I believe to be) the capability to do something like this. I would
think that most people would like to create their own template design.

Thanks again for your reply and suggestions. I'll check out Page Plus.
