How can I delete a Form/Table?

This may sound strange as i'm at a loss for words but I can't seem to delete
a form or table from my database. I have tried everything i can think of
short of reinstalling office, including starting a blank database, creating a
form, and I still can't delete this new form. I can get the tables deleted
manually through a query but that method doesn't apply to forms. Any
info/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Do you mean that, if you select the object (form, table, query, report, ...)
in the appropriate tab of the database window, and press the Delete key, the
object does not get deleted?

To delete any object all you should need to do is select it in the database
window and press the delete key on the keyboard. Depending on your option
settings you may or may not be prompted to confirm before the object is
deleted.

If as I suspect you mean deleting the data from a form or table then you
need to understand that the data is held in tables and you need to delete
the data from the table in order to "delete" it from the form.

yes that is exactly my problem, the delete button and the menu edit->delete
are not enabled buttons.

Very odd. I've never seen this reported before. Sadly, I can't offer
anything concrete to help.

It occurred to me that it may be a consequence of a database with user-level
security applied (perhaps very strangely), but when I did a quick test I
find that in that case, when I try to delete a form, I get a message
regarding permissions (and the right-click menu delete option is still
enabled).

The only thing I can think of is that your database may be corrupt in some
fashion; if that's the case, you may find Allen Brown's advice on recovering
a corrupt database useful - see http://allenbrowne.com/ser-47.html

And failing that, maybe it's an installation problem - and you should
experience it for all your .mdb files, rather than for a single one. If
that's the case, you may need to repair or re-install Access itself.

Sorry I can't be more helpful,

Rob
