1) When you see the Send/Receive dialog there is also a Cancel button on it
(actually a Cancel All button)
2) When you have a POP3 account configured in many cases your ISP has also
setup a webbased mailclient so that you can access your mail through a
webbrowser like Internet Explorer. Contact your ISP if you do not know the
web address or if one is provided to you
3) Once you've found the webbased client you probably won't have any issues
finding the message and the delete button in the interface ;-)
4) Sounds like your e-mail address has been "harvested" somewhere. Is it
posted on a website somewhere? Another possibility is that someone who has
your e-mail address has been infected by a virus. These kind of things can
happen but once they've occured you can't do a great deal about it other
that reconfiguring your anti-spam filter. Blocking each and every address is
a proper way to fight it as that most addresses will only be used once.
Simply set the filter one level higher. For Outlook 2003 this can be done in
Tools-> Options-> button Junk E-mail Filter...

Thank you, but I need that dumbed-down -- way down to my utterly non-tech
level. How, please, do I
(1) cancel Send/Receive
(2) access this Web interface
(3) persuade the Web interface to remove the slowpoke message?
And, if my ignorance hasn't pushed you out of a question-answering mood, I
have another quandary; but I suspect this one has no uncomplicated solution.
Suddenly and for no apparent reason, I'm getting flooded with wierd e-mails
from umpteen addresses -- addresses that are names of people. Every message
I get, I've added the sender's e-ddress to my Blocked Senders, but the tide
is unstemmed because of SO MANY sender e-ddresses. Is there nothing I can
do
except change my e-ddress? Thanks!
