How can I delete spam in Outlook Express

Hi, when I try to delete spam from the spam box a message states that I do
not have the authority to do this, and when I clic on the Properties Box all
items are greyed out.
Help much appreciated

This newsgroup is for support of Outlook

Express is actually a separate program despite the similar name.
