How can i detect edting mode

I'm working with a COM AddIn for MS Project, it works nicely except for
the fact that it doesn't work when the user is editing a data (as
example task name)
Any idea???

Adding info on the problem. I need to programmatically know if the user
is typing a task/resuorce description in order to block a commandbar
button. Help me please.
