How can i disable the use of png files when publishing to the web

Oh who can help me without having to uninstall and reinstall publisher 2000.

I am have previously created my page in 2000 and when published it loaded
all the pics as gifs etc (small image sizes).

SO now using 2003 why does it insist on creating png files. I have unchecked
the 'allow PNG as graphics format'. I have also unchecked the rely on VML for
faster graphics downloading'

So you would think that 2003 would not create png files, but it still does.
I have limited web space i cant use them. I thought that i could just delete
them from the sub folder, but when i view the web page it doesnt show the
images. So what am i missing?

Thanks for your help

You can't eliminate the PNG files. Pub 2003 makes copies of your images with
the goal of loading the best image possible... Unfortunately this results in
some file bloat, slower loading images and other issues.

You can reduce the file bloat by compressing the images. Here is an article
you should read: Compress graphics file sizes to create smaller Publisher
Web pages:

With that said, I would suggest that you consider going back to Pub 2000 for
your web work. Pub 2003 HTML file size can be 2.5 times as big as Pub 2000.
If you have Pub 2000, you can install it along side Pub 2003 and use both.
