How can I edit footer data, such as date printed?

When I use a template made from a previously composed page, and print
out the results, Onenote automatically inserts a footer that contains
the page number and the wrong date. The date, actually is that of the
page from which the template was made.

How do I control the details of the footer--and, especially, of such
auto-generated items as the printing date--not to mention (as another
forum member did) the ability to control a footer's typeface?

I find that Onenote, despite being the best program Micros**t ever
bought and is selling under its own name, is woefully short on Help
information. If I search for "Footer," "Footers," "Header," or
"Headers" in Onenote's Help facility, I get no or meaningless hits.
This is true whether I use "Help" built into the program or in MS
online. (Of course, MS provides no printed manual, in keeping with its
policy to keep its customers ignorant.)

Hmmm... which version are you running? In 2007, I don't get the date at the
bottom of the page, but I do get other options. I wonder if the change needs
to be made in the same place.... I don't know how to change the footer to
something other than one of the pre-programmed options, I can help you in
one way: I can tell you how to turn it off or to select a different option.

Go to File--> Print Preview. On the right hand side of the window, you will
see a number of print setup options. The second to the last one is a drop
down list for your footer options. The last item on the list is None. That
is the one I tend to use...
