How can I embed a design template?

My son has created a PowerPoint presentation at school for a class. He is
taking advantage of the slide design templates to make his presentation look
better. However, when he goes to another PC to work on the presentation, a
lot of "X"s are embedded in the presentation where the design template should
be.

My guess is that the template that he utilized isn't on the second PC, so
it's displaying the X's. Can the templates be embedded into the presentation
so that this doesn't happen? I use PowerPoint a LOT for work, and haven't
had this come up. Maybe it's because I've always stuck with the standard
templates. I've never seen some of the ones he's using.

We're having a similar problem with some (but not all) screen shots that
we're using in the presentation, as well.

FRUSTRATING!!!!

Hi,

In addition to TAJ's comments and link, there are two kinds of red x. Big
ones usually mean a corrupt file or something bad internally. Make sure you
update to latest service packs via Help| Check for Updates.

Little red x's are problems with images and can usually be reproduced with
images linked into PowerPoint, then the external reference gets lost
(picture deleted from computer or moved).

When you apply a template, it will put all of the information onto the
Master. That means it shouldn't get lost. That mean's the link TAJ gave you
will explain your options further.

As Glen says Templates are always embedded however it is possible to have
images on the master which are linked and will show red x's on other
computers.
