How can I enable autofill e-mail addresses in the "TO" field?

Can I enable outlook to autofill email addresses in my contact list? Outlook
2000

Outlook 2000 doesn't do auto-complete. It has a feature called auto-resolution.
If you enter part of a name or a nickname then tab out of the field (or hit
Alt-K [Check Names]), Outlook will attempt to resolve the name against your
address book. If it can't it'll red underline it and you can right click on
the name to manually resolve it. Outlook will save the resolution for future
use.

I am kind of asking the same question, but not. I am using Outlook
2003. When I compose an e-mail, in the "to:" field, the names in my address
book used to pop up as viable options when typing the the key alphabet
equivalents. Now this no longer works. What I am finding is that once I
type up an e-mail and send it off, it will remember the recipients names, if
I attempt to send them another e-mail consecutively. The moment that I close
Outlook and attempt the same task, it does not show rememberances of any
recipients that I have used. Any suggestions?

Autocompletion does not use your Contacts data and never has. It only uses
the cache of names from messages you have previously sent. If your cache is
not retained from one session to the next, you have a corrupt Outlook
profile and will need to create a new one.

Thank you for your reply. Question: Could this have come from upgrading
from 2000? What are the chances, percentage wise?

Indeed. No version of Outlook has ever survived an upgrade installation
without your creating a new profile from scratch. Despite Microsoft's claims
that you can upgrade an Office installation, I would certainly never try it
if I wanted to use Outlook.
