How can I enable Instant Search?

I have gone to the Search Options, but the check boxes next to Personal
Folders and Archive folders will not let me check them, and as such, my
Instant Search cannot be enabled. Any ideas on how to fix?`

I have the same problem. Instant Search is installed. On the Tools Options
Search panel, indexing is grayed out and I cannot select my folders. HELP!!!
