How can I export to csv in access 2003?

T

Todd

I have read through the suggestion below but none seem to work. When I go to
export a database from Access 2003 or Access 2007, .csv is not an export
option. Text files is an option present but .csv is not present. I can save
as .csv in excel however. Clicking that will prompt me to select other
options, like delimited and comma to separate, but the csv extension is never
added to the file.

Hi, Todd.
Clicking that will prompt me to select other
options, like delimited and comma to separate, but the csv extension is
never
added to the file.

When you export a table or query in Access 2003, select the "Save as type"
combo box and choose the "Text files (*.txt, *.csv, *.tab, *.asc)" option.
Then navigate to the directory you want to save the file in and type the
name of your file, including the .csv extension. For example,
OctoberSales.csv. If you don't add your own extension, Access will add the
..txt extension, because it's a text file. You can always change the .txt
extension to .csv manually or programmatically, however, and Excel will open
the spreadsheet for you.
