How can I find my lost cursor?

Word 2010. I may but using the wrong term but when I change location of the cursor to edit something in the middle of a Word document once I take my view off the flashing cursor I have trouble finding again. Is there a way that I can get the cursor to do something to draw attention to where it is in the document? I know that you can set it up so the mouse pointer will flash it's location by pressing the CTRL key. Is there something similar toshow the location of the cursor?

I guess you mean the tiny vertical line that indicates your "insertion
point"? A good way to locate it is to press Ctrl-Arrow (right or
left), and they you'll see your selection area start appearing. (Up or
Down would work too, of course, but you might scroll yourself off
where you were working.) Then let go of Ctrl and press the other
arrow, and you're exactly where it started.
