How can I fix a multiplication formula that quit working?

I am working around line 400 in a lengthy worksheet. There are multiple
worksheets in this project. I have used =PRODUCT(B400:C400) for all previous
calculations in this worksheet, as well as the previous worksheet (which was
over 1500 lines). The formula has quit working. I've tried copying the
formula (which I've been doing) from previous lines and have tried entering
the formula for that particular line. I've tried on several lines, but
column C (which should be the product) shows the number in column B which
means the calculation is not working. Column B is a number with 2 decimal
places and column C is a fraction. The result in column D is supposed to be
the product to 6 places. It is displaying the number is column B to 6
places. What can I do? Abandoning this worksheet is not a viable solution.
Thanks for any help.
