How can I fix damaged files in office?

I can't get windows update to work, my system information says I have 3
damaged files (office update installation engine, wuwebcontrol class, update
class) I also have 2 files missing (iecont.dll, iecontlc.dll) I don't even
know what version of office I am running. my operating system is Windows XP
Home Edition. How can I fix these Please help me....

Run a repair from the original install disk.

I tried this in case it would help solve my missing help files problem. This
did not work. It said it could not complete the process.
