kathryn's code looked to me like it should work fine for
you, don't know why it doesn't - sorry.
i get the impression you originally tried to set the
formatting from the menu bar, using the Format,
Conditional Formatting dialog box. "I can format on
condition 1 OR condition 2, OR condition 3, but how can I
format a condition based on condition 1 AND condition 2
AND condition 3 ?"
here's how you do it there:
1. in the dialog box, in Condition 1, change the selection
from "Field Value Is" to "Expression Is".
2. in the next field (the long empty box to the right),
type "[Text16]=0 And [Text19]=0 And [Text23]=0" but do not
type the quotation marks.
3. set the format to bold and red.
4. click OK.
