How can I get a read-only file onto my computer

I have downloaded a CD for a Access course I am taking and can't get the
Datafiles off the read-only. I need to work with them for the course but a
security box keeps coming up that there is an error.

Shirley,

I amnot sure what "downloaded a CD" means. You won't be able to run the
database from a CD. If you have copied files from a CD to your local
hard disk, then you can find these files in Windows Explorer or My
computer, right-click on them, select Properties from the popup menu,
and untick the Read-Only box if it is ticked.

Thanks for the response and I guess I'm not that computer literate yet but
yes I did all of that and the files are on my hard disk but after I go into
Properties to uncheck Read only I get an error message that says "Error
Applying Attributes to File, access is Denied. So I'm not sure why I am
getting this.
