how can i get info from a diskette that is corrupt or not format

i have a floppy disk that was working however now everytime i put it in my
drive it sends me back an error message and keeps on doing finally i got a
message that the file was corrupt and there would be serious problems opening
it. the first message was that the disk was not formatted and now this can
you please help me. i need this disk

If you haven't already corrupted the file by trying to open it, copy it to
the HD and open it from there. Don't ever open a Word file directly from a
floppy or save directly to a floppy.
