How can I get my Hyperlinks to link to word

I created hyperlinks that are supposed to hyperlink to Microsoft Word files
on my computer. I don't know the hyperlink language and when I do the Preiew
Web; it won't hyperlink. When I hyperlink on Publisher it asks my twice if I
want to go to these files and if I don't know the person it may hurt my
computer. Just because my hyperlinks won't show up on the preview web page,
does that mean my hyperlinks aren't working? Thank you so much.

You upload your Word files to your website, and write the links to their
location there, not your computer. Reference "Including external files in a
