How can I get my Stedman's Medical Dictionary to work in Word?

Ramona

I have been trying for days. I have Stedman's on my computer, I have gone to
"options" in Word and checked it as a custom dictionary, but it will not
work. How can I get this dictionary to work in Word?

You didn't identify your word version.

I am not familar with the Stedmans dictionary. Does the product state that
it can be integrated with MS Office (Word). Is the dictionary file in a doc
or dic format?
If it is not in a format that word recognizes then there will be no joy.

Some dictionary, grammer, theasaurus products run as an external program
that have the capability of opening word formatted files.

From Stedman's website
Is Stedman's Plus Spellchecker 2007 compatible with Microsoft Office
2007?
We are currently working with Microsoft to develop compatibility with
Microsoft Office 2007/Word 2007. Please send an e-mail to (e-mail address removed)
with the subject line of “Office 2007†with your name, e-mail address, and
mailing address, and we will notify you as additional information becomes
available.

I took a quick look at the Stedman's user manual, it appears that this
program is an integrated add-in. If think that some addins won't work if your
Office macro settings are set to High.

Stedman's recommends the following:
Is It Really Working?
You can use the words “Dutoprol†and “sitagliptin†to make sure Stedman’s
Plus, 2007 has been installed properly. Simply type “Dutaprol†and
“sitabliptin†(incorrect versions of the above words) and spellcheck your
document. Your spellchecker should highlight these words and will suggest
the correct words “Dutoprol†and “sitagliptin†from the Stedman’s Plus, 2007
dictionary file
