How can I get Office97 to work with Vista?
What dll's and other links or drivers are neccessary? Where do I get them?
What are the security risks and how can they be resolved?

Have you actually tried installing O97, and did you uninstall any trial
version first?
Since MS stopped supporting O97 many years ago, there have been no security
updates for some years.
Open Office is free, reads Office data files & creates compatible ones

You put the CD in the drive and install it, pretty much works just fine.
You use it as is, it is unsupported software. IF you have concerns, buy
supported software.

After you install Office 97, several Office 97 upgrades are available at
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/downloads/CD010226191033.aspx

At a minimum, you should install Office 97 Service Release 1 (SR-1), then
Office 97 Service Release 2b (SR-2b) for security improvements and bug fixes.
