I have created an Autolayout Object in PowerPoint slide master but cannot see
the object when I View | Normal, as I can with the created "Title Area for
AutoLayouts". Why am I not able to see the object?

Hi,

I'm not sure what you mean by Autolayout objects. Do you mean placeholders?
You can not currently customize additional placeholders. Also, what version
of PowerPoint are you using?

Thanks for the speedy reply. I'm using PowerPoint 2003 (11.6361.6360) SP1.

I suppose I'm talking about placeholders. When I view | master | slide
master I see around the "placeholders" the notations "Title Area for
AutoLayouts" -- where the slide title text will be placed, and "Object Area
for AutoLayouts" -- where the body of each slide text will be placed. The
problem is that there's no dotted line showing "Click to add content" (or
some such phrase) as there is with the slide title, which says, "Click to add
title".

I hope that helps.

Ah Ha. While in Slide Master view, click on Format, Master Layout and check
the box for the Text placeholder.

Yes. That's what I have done. (Now the text placeholder is checked and
greyed out). But when I return to View | Normal, the placeholder doesn't
appear.
