How can I get Visio hyperlinks to work when embedded in MS Word

I am writing work flow procedures in which I have built hyperlinks to
templates etc. The Visio diagram needs to form part of a word document but I
loose the use of the hyperlinks when I embed or paste or link.

How can I get the hyperlinks to work?
