I set the date format with regional settings "Italy" how ever I still have to
enter date as mm/dd/yy while we are used to write it dd/mm/yy.
Did I did the wrong settings, even if I tried sevral european ones, or is
there something else to do so that I could finally insert a date in a way I
always did it?.
many thanks in advance

hihglight your date cells, click Format/Cells. Choose Custom in the list.
In the entry box below "Type" enter this without the quotes:
"dd\mm\yy"

Thank you wilwy.
i did as you told me but that does not change my problem as I would like the
date to show for ex 22-Jul-2006. That I can do by normal formating of the
cell even if I enter the date mm/dd/yy.
What I would like, if at all possible, is to make a default setting for
entering dates in the following way DD/MM/YY.
Is it possible? Do you know how to do it?
