How can I have only some tasks split by leveling?

It seems there should be a per-task checkbox that says "Do not split this
task" but I cannot find any. Is there a way to keep some tasks from being
split by leveling?

Hi,

You're absolutely right, you can decide which tasks canbe split bu leveling
and which ones can't
he field is called "Leveling Can Split". It can be set to "No"

With manual leveling, you can select the tasks to level and then level only
the selected tasks.

Hi Jim and all,

I have never seen that option ...
To the contrary, the 3leveling can Split" field is the exact answer to the
poster's question.

Hi Jan, thank you. It took a little time to figure out what you meant and how
to find to do it in Project (the help doesn't seem to address how to set the
standard fields) but I found in the Task Sheet view to add the column and set
it that way. Is that the main/only way to set these fields? Originally I'd
expected to see UI in the task properties dialog for this.

Thanks.

Hi,

There are something like 400 possible task fields (could be more, depends on
the version); they cannot all be taken into a form like task information :)
Yes you can insert each of these fields as a column in other task views (not
just Task Sheet but also Gantt Chart, Task Usage, etc.), and indeed, for the
fields not seen in the Task Information form this is the way.
Moreover, I rarely use the Task Information form, I rather insert fields
like constraint type, deadline, etc. into a view.

As for Leveling can split: you may have noticed that most people, even
specialists, don't know its existence - pity!
