how can I hide from others when I dont have administrator privlig.

My question is this:I share a laptop with my boyfriend,who is a computer
wiz...I want to prevent him fromaccessing and reading my mail,and other
sights,but Im just a beginner.I know he hides alot from me,so can I keep my
stuff private too?Please help a desperate girl who hates this intrusion!
