How can I keep Outlook from disconnecting internet and redialing .

I connect to the internet using dial-up. Once connected I can open up IE.
When I open Outlook and click on Send/Receive to check my mail, Outlook
disconnects my internet connection and then redials to connect again. My
email connection information is the SAME as my internet connection
information.

How can I stop this? It's a real pain and a waste of time to wait for my
computer to hang up and redial.

Click on Tools-> Options and click on the 'Mail Setup' tab. See and confirm
the settings at the bottom half of that tab.

Maybe that is what is causing the disconnection and subsequent dialling..
