if you want to keep this data in an Access database, you'll need to start
with a table design, then build forms for data entry, and you may want a
report or two as well. not a difficult prospect, but if you're new to Access
you'll have to put some elbow grease into it. suggest you see
http://home.att.net/~california.db/tips.html for more information, focusing
on tips 1 and 2 for now, and take a look at the rest of the tips before you
begin building your db. note that an Access database will work well on a
local area network (LAN), but not on a wide-area network (WAN).
if you don't have the time and/or inclination to learn the basics of data
modeling and how to use the software, Kirk, i'm willing to put together a
simple database for you; i'd consider it an honor to donate my time in
support of firefighters. if you decide to take up my offer, scroll to the
bottom of the webpage listed above, and use the email address in tip 11 to
contact me. just follow the instructions to "decode" the address, and change
the 2 to a 1.
