How can I manually unistall office2000

Eddie Rodriguez

My office2000 got corrupted I am not able to re-install I
get an error "This patch package could not be opened.
Verify that the patch package exists and that you can
access it, or contact application vendor to verify that
is a valid windows Install patch package." when I try to
re-install. I am running office 2000 on Windows XP
professional. I am running XP that uses with Microsoft
windows installer 2.0 or greater. Any of the knowledge
bases do not cover windows XP with windows installer 2.0
or greater. How can I resolve this problem? How can I
manually remove office2000 so I can re-istall it? Any
modification I can make to registry so I can re-install?

Thanks,
Eddie

There is a utility on the Windows XP cd called msizap. You'll need to
install the support tools located at Support\Tools\Suptools.msi.
Run msizap with the following command line.

<path>\msizap.exe T! {GUID}
(where GUID is the Product Code for the product in question. The GUID can be
found under the
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
Highlight each of the GUIDs and look for a display name of Microsoft Office
2000. When you find it, copy the GUID.)
