How can I move objects without breaking links. Links stay intact

I am using visio standard 2003. I would like to move objects around and have
the link to another shape on the same page move with the object so that I do
not have to delete the link and relink the objects.

If you have connected 2 shapes together using a connector, then they always
stay glued.
If you select the connector, do the ends of it show as red or green ... if
they are NOT red then they are NOT connected properley.

What type of diagram are you using?
What do you mean by "link"? A connector?
If the "link" is a connector then the connector should be able to glue
to your objects. Maybe glue is turned off ..
menu Tools -> Snap & Glue
and ensure that something in the Glue section is enabled.
