How can I OCR imported PDF pages for search? I am attemping to work with US
Patents, for example, but when imported as a PDF and converted to images,
they won't OCR for searching. Thank you.

Which version of OneNote? It should happen automatically in 2007 (maybe
after a short period of time for the indexing to occur). Can you right-
click on a picture and see what the value of the "Make text in image
searchable" menu is?

It's 2007. Actually it turns out "English" was automatically selected for
the language when I right clicked and went to the menu, and that if I chose
"disable" and then "English" again it would process the images and OCR them,
so I figured out how to make it happen. I'm still not sure why it doesn't do
it by default. With other PDF's, no language is selected at first, and if I
select one they process just fine, but the default "English" selection
happens with the patent PDFs every time, without OCRing. Thank you for your
help! I certainly found a resolution of sorts.

I also noticed that my pdf files (printed to ON2007) were not OCR'd. So I
tried selecting a file and going though the "disabled" and then clicking on
English. Joila each separate file immediately OCR'd.

So now we need to know how to get this function to perform automatically.
