Have a look in the Entourage Help menu on the topic:

Group, sort, and filter items

It's surprising what info you might find right within the program:)

If you have any specific problems don't hesitate to ask, but please don't
try to cram everything into the Subject field - that's what the bigger
Message area is for. Also, there is a separate newsgroup dedicated to issues
about each application. You'll typically get faster response if you post to
the appropriate group.

Thanks Bob, I had a look at that but it organizes all my contacts apart from one that is suddenly in the middle without following alphabetical order. I would also like to know whether entourage has any option to see the alphabet on the right hand side of the screen so i can go straight to all the names starting by M, for example. And also, can´t i organise the contacts by presentations cards or visit cards? i can see that option in outlook but can´t find it in entourage and i´ve been searching all night on google for answers. Thanks so much for your help.

This is for Entourage 2008 only:

Using the top search box, type M

When the search comes up click on the plus button. Change the criteria:

Last Name Begins with M

You can save these searches and they will show up under custom views.

Not sure what presentations cards or visit cards are. These are not terms we
use in Entourage, but there often are ways to do what you want. If you can
explain them maybe we can offer a workaround.

Is there any way to send you an attachment? i´ve scanned pictures from a book on outlook 07 to show you exactly what i mean. I´m still not finding what i´m looking for and dont want to give up on entourage just yet!

If you are talking about the address book, just click on the name column.
The little arrow shows that you can sort ascending or descending. You can of
course click on any other column header to sort on that as well.

Attachments aren't really allowed in the news groups or forums. You'll just
have to describe what you mean.

Ok, i´m spanish so i´m try to be as clear as i can describing it...

in one of the pictures you can see on the screen the alphabet from A to Z on the right hand corner as a stripe. So basically you press M and shows all your M contacts. When you press M it shows all those contacts in little boxes with all the information you have about them and pictures in case you have the contacts with pictures. So maybe you´ll see on the screen all the contacts with the photos and info and they appear by columns. So much easier to see than the single list i´m getting in entourage.
Do you know what i mean?

I´m also having trouble making groups in the address book. I´ve been trying to make one and each time i introduce the first letter it only shows two contacts with that letter but i have many more and it doesn´t recognise the ones i´m trying to introduce, even though they are in the contacts list.

I´m finding the program quite complicate for the very simple things i´m trying to do. Everything should be so much straight forward...

thanks again for your help

If you use a newsreader, and create an HTML email, you can insert
attachments. You cannot see them via the Mactopia interface, but newsreaders
can see them.

Did you try the Spotlight search I mentioned? Definitely not as handy as
what you describe.

I think what you are describing is the like this index.

Try dragging into the group window. You can use Command-click to select
several to drag at once. I would assign a category to these contacts for
example, as group xxx. Entourage doesn't export groups and this would give
you a way to rebuild a group if needed.

I wonder if this could be a bug in the Spanish version of Entourage?

Are you talking about Entourage? I do not see any A-Z icon in any of the
views or customizable tool bar options.

Sorry, no. Are you wanting an Entourage view or appearance that is more like
another application? Which application. If it is easier for you, you may
email screen shots to me.

So, you selected new Group, and then can't select the addresses? Is this
maybe a keyboard issue? You are not using a US keyboard, correct?

Well, it shouldn't be complicated. Let's try to sort this out one thing at a
time. Please describe what you are trying to accomplish, and how you are
doing, and what Entourage is doing/not doing.
