How can I prevent Outlook from erasing all appointments over 6 mo.

I find that Outlook Calender has erased all appointments over 6 months old
(eg when did I last visit the doctor). I would like to disable this if
possible, or at least be able to archive so I have a full and complete
record. Suggestions??
