How can I prevent spam from appearing in my Guestbook?

I have used a FrontPage template to create my website. Included in the
website was a Guestbook. I had to discontinue the Guestbook because every
day there were new posts in the Guestbook from spammers. Usually the posts
that they left were advertising their websites, and almost always they were
about drugs and/or sex. I would love to have the Guestbook back, but I do
not have the time to go in and delete the junk every day.

Is there some way of filtering the messages that are posted in the Guestbook?

Just go from website to website and see how many guest books you
find - hardly any. The reason? You just gave the answer. Forget guest
books. If you have an email address on your site, make sure it's a
throw-a-way that you can change every couple of months for the same
reason.

It's like putting a basket out by the road in front of your house with a
sign, "Throw anything you want in here!" :)
