How can I print a small page using Word 2003/Windows XP?

I want to set up a document to print a 4" page on continuous stationery
(Epson matrix printer). I can set the page height of my document to 4" in
page setup and it looks OK on the preview, however when it prints the printer
throws about 11" after each page. In the printer advanced properties there
is now a Paper Size parameter that only has options of A3 A4 A5 etc and by
default it is set to A4. There is no option to set a custom paper length on
the printer. Does this mean that Word can now only handle continuous
stationery if it is in A3/A4/A5 size sheets? That would be a big step
backwards as it used to be possible with much earlier versions of Windows and
Word.
