If you don't have the stencil display addon that came with earlier
versions of Visio you could try out our replacement at

This was a discussion I had here some time ago - I contacted Microsoft with
no reply, nor had any here.
The addon was Stencil Report Wizard.exe and its associated template
Stndoc.VST. This addon a works with all versions to and including 2007. My
version came with pre-Microsoft "Visio Corp" Visio 4.1 Technical.
Since the addon is no longer available for purchase or other "legitimate"
acquisition, I see no problem in users making it available to other Visio
users. Under Australian copyright law, any material that is no longer
commercially available can be copied and distributed.
If Microsoft see a problem with this, then MS should make it available for
download. If they do not wish to, then let users distribute a very useful
addon to other users.

One is acutely aware of MS' propensity to set pit-bull attack lawyers - yet
one also notes that MS was recently fined humungously by the EU for
uncompetitive behaviour.
I really like MS' defensive excuse:
"For its part, Microsoft has accused the EU of going too far in seeking a
record fine for alleged antitrust abuses, saying it is being penalized for
behavior permitted in the United States and did not realize it was acting
illegally in Europe."
Perhaps if I simply told Visio users where I have already uploaded the
addon, and tell the MS pit-bull attack lawyers that they complain about
behavior permitted in Australia and that I did not realize it was acting
illegally in the US. And anyway I'm not acting in the US.
But neither was the Australian alleged software pirate Huw Griffiths - USA
gained his extradition for trial and jail in the US for an offence against
US law allegedly committed in Australia. He had never been outside
Australia. The idiot Australian Govt Minister who signed the extradition
papers is now in Opposition after that Govt was turfed out in the last
November election. Hopefully, of course, next November that inarticulate
oaf the Americans elected as the Leader of the Free (Trade) World will be
equally irrelevant.
Perhaps Australia should demand the extradition to Australia for trial and
jail for offences committed in the US against Australian law. The bloody
lunatic gun-toting Yanks would be a great place to start. And the bastards
who dreamed up Guantanamo Bay.
Sorry. I just find the corporate attitude of Microsoft so closely mirrors
the arrogance of the USA. Love the software. Loathe the corporation.
