How can I reach the properties from Sharepoint with code in word?

I'm involved in a project where we are using Sharepoint 2007 in collaboration
with Word 2007 to create a report system. I now need a way to connect
predefined content controls with the properties that has been set up in
Sharepoint. I guess there is a way to read the properties that is reported on
the property tab in word but I haven't been able to figure out how.

In the long run I also would like a way to create new properties in
Sharepoint from code so that users can create a word file and just enter
different names for the properties in the content controls (of course
controlled) and if the properties doesn't exist in Sharepoint I want to
create them as well as upload the document as a content type to the defined
sharepoint site.

If anybody has a good ide on how I can do this by code, either ni C# or by
Microsoft VB let me know.
